ROSELLE MCCONNELL

​

Since a photography workshop in Paris, France in 2014, Roselle McConnell has been walking the streets with camera in hand motivated by a desire to capture “the decisive moment”.  Roselle specializes in architectural, lifestyle and street photography and lives in Newport, Rhode Island.

​

McConnell is the featured photographer in the landmark book “America’s Eden:  Landscapes Through the Ages” by John R. Tschirch in partnership with the Newport Tree Conservancy in Newport, Rhode Island.  Released in December 2021, “America’s Eden” is a top selling comprehensive history of Newport landscapes from European settlement to the present day and is illustrated with paintings and drawings by prominent designers and leading artists.  McConnell’s contribution features Newport’s “Living Legends”:  photographs of twenty historic and rare tree specimens on estates and public property in Newport.

McConnell holds a B.S. in Mass Communication, a M.S. in Business Management, and is a 2017 graduate of the Photography Program at the Rhode Island School of Design.  Her photographic essay “In His Shoes” was exhibited at the Griffin Museum of Photography, in Winchester, MA from Feb. 20 – March 26, 2021. She attended The New England School of Photography where her work was selected for the annual juried exhibit This American Landscape in May 2018 at the Garner Center for Photographic Exhibitions.  Two exhibits at the Praxis Gallery, in Minneapolis, MN include a group exhibit in February 2021 and an internationally juried exhibit The Found Object in April 2021.

As a mother of two and previous owner of an interior design business for 10 years, art and design greatly influence Roselle’s portfolio, as do her various travels to Iceland, London, Tokyo, Scotland, Hong Kong, Thailand, California, and France.
